NOTE: The last lesson is April 16, week 16 (i.e. 11 sessions). In addition, 2 drop-ins are included at optional course sessions on the regular semester schedule, or 2 workshops with Nan dala. Register for the drop-in by writing to Lisa at

AFROBEAT: Urban music & dance style with roots in Ghana & Nigeria as well as other parts of Africa and which has now also established itself strongly in the Western world! The dance and music are a mix of popular Afro styles with a lot of energy, feeling, attitude & fun! Here we see elements of Afro dance styles such as Amapiano, Ndombolo, Azonto, Coupe´ Decale´, Afrohouse, Kuduro etc.
Teacher: Nandala
Take the opportunity to dance for Nandala Mathew who is with us this semester as a guest from Uganda. He is a versatile dancer, experienced and humble teacher and, among other things, choreographer for the famous “Ghetto Kids”. You will learn different styles of Afro dance with this phenomenal dancer.
